Ship's Office

Were you a ship mate of Doug Pellman (11/81-284)?

This is a Plea from Doug Pellman's only remaining relative, please assist her If you can.

My brother Douglas Ray Pellman was in the Navy for nine years, and on the USS QUEENFISH SSN 651 from November, 1981 to February of 1984. He was also on the USS SILVERSIDES SSN 679 in Virginia later and on the USS SWORDFISH SSN 579 between 1978-1980.

Doug died in October of 1998. It was a very sad, painful and unnecessary death. I am one year older than Doug and knew of some of the turmoil, mentally he was going through, but he never talked about his life in the Navy. He became very defensive, offensive and pulled completely away from any family life and finally his life.

Please help me find some friends he may have had during his time on the USS QUEENFISH SSN 651. My heart aches with so much sadness, not understanding why his notes express so much pain and heartache. He may have been married, but I am not sure. Please help me.

I had to arrange his funeral (cremation), wonderful service, and had him buried at Fort Snelling in St. Paul, Minnesota. I was the only family member there.

Our father passed two years ago next week and he was the only other family member who ever visited Doug's grave. Very sad, I agree! He deserved better!

Please contact me with any information you may have! I have no money for any memberships or travel due to my present physical condition and other traumas difficult to handle, but I miss my brother so much and need to honor him. He needs to be honored!

God Bless!
